Our first feature for Community Spotlights is the winner for the Cutest Carnivore Contest!

She goes by Ellycat in game, you'll find her in Discord as Bleep Bloop, and for our first Dino Beauty Contest she knocked it out of the park! Her submission of "Chomp" the adorable sleeping Megalosaurus is pictured below, and her dino's dermis now permanently resides in the Hall of Champions at the Community Center on the high mod Ragnarok server.

I'm a little late in posting the spotlight but at the time - Ellycat's favorite map was Ragnarok and she was looking forward to Crystal Isles coming out. Her favorite thing to do in Ark is build beautiful gardens, and look for cool bugs and quirky creatures to tame. Ellycat has been on davidscloud servers since May 10th of this year. In the short time she's spent with us already, she has shown a passion for participation -- turning up to every event we've hosted since she joined us!

This Community Spotlight on Davidscloud features the winner of our Dino Beauty Contest: Birds Edition! We're sure you've seen him around, as he is an active member of our Discord. Since his first day in the community, he has been a great addition to our family here.

Here are some fun facts about the community's most recent showstopper:

How long have you been playing ARK?

I started playing when Scorched Earth came out, and played about 1500 hours over the course of a couple years. I recently started playing again, and I’m loving all the new content.​

When did you join Davidscloud?

I joined almost a month ago. A friend convinced me to download ARK again, but wanted to play on a server with official rates, and I couldn’t go without the quality of life mods. I found Davidscloud on Reddit and it has been super welcoming.​

Which is your favorite map and why?

Tough call—but probably The Island. I’ve been ranging across the various servers in the cluster, but at the end of the day, The Island is like coming home.​

What is your favorite activity?

I would say adventuring, because I feel like it combines a little bit of everything. I mostly play solo or in a small tribe, and that means less specialization and more room for activities!​

What is something you ALWAYS have in your hot bar?

Crossbow with grappling hook. Always. That has saved my life more times than I can count!​

What advice would you give a brand new player?

Don’t be afraid to die. It’s easy to get comfortable with your favorite dinos and favorite loadouts, but some of the most fun I’ve had in Ark is when I’ve set out to try something new. Dying in unexpected ways is part of the fun!​

As his submission photo below shows, he's absolutely fearless! On top of being brave, he's always kind and helpful, never shying away from lending a hand to other players and admins when the opportunity arises. Keep an eye out for this maverick -- he's a force to be reckoned with!!
